Your jaws are very powerful. They have strong muscles designed for crushing and chewing. Many people clench or grind their teeth at night and may not even know it. This causes headaches and neck pain. It can lead to conditions such as TMJ syndrome (Temporomandibular Pain Syndrome) and TMD (Temporomandibular Dysfunction).
Your practitioner needs to have felt the muscles inside your jaw to asses this. If not, then you have not been fully treated for your headaches.
Treatment for this type of headache is very effective when done well.
2. Top Rib
Your top rib is higher than your collar bone. Important neck muscles attach here. They can pull the rib up, so that it gets stuck. When the rib is stuck it can irritate the neck muscles which pull and can cause headaches.
Your health professional can assess this easily by feeling how your top ribs move as you breathe in and out. This commonly missed cause of headaches can be easily resolved in just 2-3 treatments.
3. Biceps & Pec Muscles
Yes, this one seems surprising. Most health professionals might not even look at biceps and pecs when treating your headaches. But it’s quite obvious to anyone who knows anatomy. When the biceps and pecs pull the shoulder forwards, then the neck can’t move properly. Try it for yourself now.
If your neck can’t move well, do you think that might cause headaches?
