Today I want to talk about knee pain and why its not always a structure within your knee that’s creating the pain.
So knee pain, that’s what we call diffuse or non-specific, so just generally around the knee joint rather than a specific structure or a specific spot, generally is coming from the muscles that affect the knee. That being your quad, your hammy, and your calf down here at the bottom.
Your knee is a hinge joint so it’s a super simple joint. So it’s relying on those three muscles for its stability and its control. And when there’s an imbalance in those we often get that diffuse knee pain.
If this sounds like you, please feel free to get in touch. Thanks for listening.
What Causes Knee Pain?
We have lost count of the number of people who were booked in for knee surgery BUT a simple calf stretch resolved their problem completely.
Of course there are times when surgery is the best option BUT only half the time that surgeons tell so.
